Valentine’s Day – Gift of the Day WSOY AM with Brian & Amber: Boudoir Portraits!

This week we had three of the WSOY ladies in the studio for a promo boudoir session. The ladies modeled our Boudoir Sessions for the ‘Gift of the Day’ on WSOY. We had a blast with this quick session  (only about 15 minutes in the studio) with Amber, Debbie & Lindsay.

Check out our featured gift today HERE: http://www.wsoyam.com/pages/9077293.php?contentType=4&contentId=7564337&isPreview=1&noCache=1&nextPage=%2Fappx%2Fblurb%2Fblurb_page_summary.php%3FstnPageId%3D9077293%26contentType%3D4%26contentId%3D7564337

Here are a few of the lady’s favorite images:

First Assignment with Thrive Entertainment Guide! – Crusin’ Eldo

Tonight I took about an hour to visit downtown Decatur and checkout the Crusin’ Eldo car show. It was a beautiful night for the show which brought out everything from a rusted out 19-something cruiser to a brand new 2010 Corvette and even an Oliver Tractor!

Great fair food and live bands all down Eldorado, plus “party lots” with a variety of beverages, it was a good time for all ages. Every lot down Eldorado was sprinkled with spectators watching all the classics cruse the street.

Model Headshots – SJP

I had a great shoot today with an old roommate of mine, Elissa. She is about to graduate from the University of Central Missouri and embark out into the world of acting. Today we had a great shoot in the studio to give her some new headshots. This is my third shoot with Elissa and I have to say that she is a blast to work with and it is so great to photograph actors/actresses because of their range and their ability to show their feelings in their faces.

Below is my favorite art shot from the session today.

Project 365 – My Past :)

Since I didn’t start sharing these on the blog until yesterday 2/4 … I obviously have over a month’s worth of images unposted so I will try to filter them in as I can along with the new day posts:

Here is the old:

Project 365 : January 1, 2010

Caption: Most of the images in the beginning of January are “make up images” since I didn’t begin the project until the middle of the month. This image is a pink post-it note behind a hole in a plastic basket.

Project 365 – 2010 project – Missouri Photographer

So… January is always full of resolutions and JUNK but for me it is really a time for “personal goal.” Yes, I know that for some these may seem like the same thing, but lets just face it… resolutions just don’t work. Just ask the 15 pound I have resolved to lose each year for the past 5 years… they are STILL here!

For me 2010 is going to be a time of huge changes (just like every year I guess). I will be moving to ???????? (no idea yet) in just 3 short months to begin the next chapter of my life (entitled “Life after college.. the grown up years”) and I will be running full force toward my dream of owning the biggest, baddest photographic studio EVER! 🙂 Dream big!

SO… the point? I have set myself up with my own little personal project, and I am taking you people along for the ride (the 2 of you who probably stumble upon my blog in your web wanderings) 🙂

My project is to take an image EVERY day!! With my nifty new iPhone I have downloaded an app called “Project 365” and the goal is to create an image every day of the year. Though it is difficult to remember each day, I have done my best to take an image every day and at least make up for the days I miss. It has only been a month but it has been so much fun simply because the images are just creative, fun and I have started to look at my world again.

So today I decided I should put the images out there (where ever there may be). So I will do that here… plus, honestly, it is a little therapeutic for me to spend a few seconds every day looking for an image, and laughing at what I find/see and to write it all down…

Engagement Session – Guestbook

One of the greatest parts of being a photographer is getting to work with friends and family! My cousin, Austin, is getting married to is beautiful fiance, Janessa, next June and I am so excited to be photographing the wedding.

Austin and Janessa are a young couple and we had a blast photographing their engagement session a few months ago on the campus of the University of Missouri – Columbia. Campus is beautiful, though it was quite cold that day.

Today, I designed their custom guestbook and I am soo excited about this product! You can view the design below and I hope can see why I think this is such a unique product! I am sure anyone who had been to a wedding in the past decade if familiar with the traditional (and BORING) guestbooks… Usually a white or cream linen with some lace and plain lined pages to sign in. Now try to think of another place where you signed in in this exact same way … any guesses?

A funeral!?! … lets not associate an end with your beginning.

So try on a new idea… A beautiful, custom designed album of your engagement session. Now you get more from that session than just a newspaper announcement, you wow your guests with this hot new product, and more than that you invite them to write more than just their names. With no lines, most guests will feel invited to include a special note, or good wishes along with their names. These comment alongside your beautiful images will let you revisit your day and your love over the years.

Plus, think about it, anyone remember getting out that old dusty sign in book to look at the names? But you have to have a guestbook right? So lets do it in style!!!!

Daycare Portrait Sessions!!!

Obviously inspired by my last portrait session, I have decided to start offering more daycare portrait sessions!! YAY.

If you missed my last post you should check it out below… I spent just a couple hours at at an in-home daycare last week photographing each of the children and I had a blast!!! So it got me thinking why not do some more! The sessions are fast and fun and really very easy,  for parents that is! And, lets face it, easy is NOT the word most parents think of when thinking of getting their children ready for a portrait session.

But parents think about this, you get your child ready for daycare just like any other day except maybe you pick out a special outfit and pack an extra outfit too. That’s it! When you pick up your little one and go home, you have an image gallery full of beautiful images of your precious baby! Done!!!

And daycare providers, this is a great way to offer your parents a little extra service. You can choose to pay for the session as a gift to the parents for giving your their business, OR have them cover their session and have the gift be the convenience of you organizing the day! And don’t worry, I do most of the work 🙂 … You just coordinate with the parents to get contact information for me, session payments and to relay session details to each parent.

Plus, as a thanks for being the coordinator of the event, I will also take a group image of all your little ones and you (and any other daycare staff members) … the whole gang! And I give you a FREE 4×6 of my favorite group blooper image… and I promise there will be one! This is a great way to market your daycare if you are expanding or create memories of the children you care for over the years!

Call, email or text me to book your session today!

“Hey Baby” – Missouri Photographer

My morning was babies, babies, babies! When approached by a local in-home daycare to plan a shoot-day at the daycare my first reaction was sheer terror! Could I handle six babies under 3-years-old let alone make beautiful images of them? I quickly decided to jump in and accept the challenge. And the result….

I had a blast spending 2 hours with these high energy and beautiful babies and produced some of my favorite new images. Here are a few:

Great new things coming in 2010!!!

I am so excited about starting another new year and new and exciting adventures with the business! I already have some great new options lined up for 2010 brides two of the biggest additions being a live photo booth and my associate program! Here is a preview of both new ideas.

Photo Booth: Brides are all concerned with making sure their guests are well fed, well entertained and happy at the reception. Well the photo booth ensures that your guests will not spend a single moment sitting in their seats.

What is it: The photo booth is a mini studio set up at your reception hall where all your guests can have a great time being goofy in front of the camera and getting some fun and beautiful images of themselves, their friends and their family while everyone is together. Goofy hats and props themed to your wedding colors make the experience even more unique!

Plus: Want to really impress your guests with a personal “party favor” opt for the guest gift option and you can give each of your guests a professionally framed image of themselves as a party favor!!! It will have them talking about your event for years!!!

_____________

I am also really excited about my associate photographer program. What does this mean for 2010 brides? Now every bride, no matter the budget, can get the SJP wedding experience. Have your engagement, bridal and boudoir sessions with me (Sarah) and have your wedding day covered by one of my hand-picked professional associate photographers for only $150/hour (3 hour minimum). This is a HUGE savings and a great way to get a professional experience within a smaller budget. Budget product line is coming soon!! Call to book today, DATES/SPACES ARE LIMITED!

Alicia – New Bloomfield Senior 2010

I had an amazing session with Alicia last weekend. Favorite location, great evening (afternoon now) light and beautiful senior all combine to create some of my favorite images. Here are just a few (it took me a long time to narrow it down to just these). These are the images that will be featured on her senior model cards (that is why they are so tall and skinny)… Those interested in being senior models call, email or TEXT me. You get some unique little cards, each featuring a different image of you and each worth $10 in print credit for you and a friend when you refer a new client!!! 🙂
